Coach’s ace earns him some new wheels
May 8 was Cameron Duke’s lucky day. He shot a hole in one during a benefit golf tournament and scored a two-year lease on a black 2021 Ford Ranger Tremor Edition donated by Mullinax Ford.
The timing was perfect, Duke, the head football coach at Edgewater High School, remarked afterward because he and his wife are expecting a baby.
The event took place on the Crooked Cat course at Orange County National Golf Center and Lodge in Winter Garden. Duke played in one of 80 foursomes raising money for the West Orange High School football team.
He hit his ace on the very last hole – a par-3, 165-yard layout he almost didn’t play until his teammates convinced him. He used a 7 iron, propelling the ball to the green where it hit once and rolled straight into the cup.
The Ranger with the Tremor package retails for $42,395. It features a 10-speed automatic transmission, a 4-door crew cab, a 5-foot truck bed and seating for five passengers – plenty of space for a baby seat. And with 270 horsepower, it has the muscle he and his wife will need to haul supplies for the new addition to the family.
